Winter Skies

While walking my new puppy Ted a few times a day, every day since January, I can't help but stop and look up at the sky and the clouds. They fascinate me, the colours, the textures, the fleeting grandeur of the clouds and their ever changing variety. Every single day something new is happening - not even every day, more like every few minutes! I find myself transfixed and looking skyward everytime I'm out in the garden, park or fields - what are the sky and clouds up to today?

This wintertime has given us some spectacular sunrises and sunsets too amidst the bleakness of the rain, wind and grey - they're always welcome and it's always a pleasure to catch a glimpse of one and then take a minute to look and think - have a daydream...

A gentle and soft sunset

The sun leaves a glow over fleecy cloudlets and stretches as it lowers at the end of the day

The sunset gives a deep glow and a black silhouette to the trees.

Stormy clouds - grey and heavy, but blowing at pace over the golden winter field

Those beautiful white fluffy clouds that glide in the blue sky on a bright sunny day - makes me think of summer...

Glimpses of a sunrise as the world awakes - just beautiful
