The Hertfordshire Garden Festival 2014 at Knebworth House

This way to the garden show and Knebworth Park gardens...

Stunning displays
We went for a delightful afternoon out at Knebworth House on Saturday, which is just down the road from us.The Hertfordshire Garden Festival was being held there and it turned out to be glorious weather. There were many varied, colourful and interesting displays of plants and an array of stalls selling garden furniture and ornaments too. We spent quite some time having a wander about, browsing around enjoying all the displays and looking out for any interesting bits that might take our fancy for the garden.

Anyone for a bit of topiary?

Just browsing and chatting!

We were tempted with a few items -  we are always drawn to different plant types, but have bought a lot recently, so we looked at some of the more ornamental items. We were taken with some interesting water features and some oil fires for the patio table, but in the end we bought a couple of ornamental herons for our pond area.

The band adds to the atmosphere - flowers and music...

Ready for those summer bedding plants?
Entrance to the festival included entry to the grounds and gardens of the house and we whiled away another hour or two strolling around the gardens looking to see what was out in bloom.
