The garden is nearing its best, spring flowers are slowly fading back and summer plants are freshly budding and bursting out; pots and baskets are all refilled and planted now. The garden is in full blazing colour at the moment: poppies, foxgloves, roses, daisies, wallflowers... We seem to have big jumbles of plants in every border at the moment, bursting out everywhere and taking over the garden!
The days are a little mixed weather wise, but when we've had a day of sunshine it is glorious and warm and just perfect for a summer party outdoors. We had a fabulous party to celebrate the day after our daughter's wedding - the sun was shining, the parasols and bunting were out and even the flowers joined in the fun.
It's a sheer pleasure to spend as much time as we can outdoors and making the most of the warmer days and lighter nights now - eating al fresco, reading in a shady corner, barbeques, entertaining friends....
